Jalapeno Stuffed Bison Burgers

Four burgers with toppings on a wooden board in front of a grill
Four raw hamburger patties with cheese on a grill

Ingredients

●1 Pound Ground Beef
●1 Pound Ground Bison
●4 Hamburger Buns
●8 oz Pepper Jack Cheese Block
●8 oz Canned Diced Jalapenos (divided)
●½ Cup Greek Yogurt or Sour Cream
●Monument Grills Texas Beef Rub to Taste

Preparation

1. Preheat your grill to 500°F.
2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, ground bison, half of the canned jalapenos, and Monument Grills Texas Beef Rub.
3. Form the meat mixture into 8 equal meat balls. Use a burger press or plate to flatten one of the meat balls.
4. Slice the pepper jack cheese block into 8 thick slices. Place 2 slices of the cheese in the middle of the flattened patty.
5. Place another meat ball on top and form into a patty with your hands. Repeat to form 4 stuffed burger patties.
6. Place directly on the grill grates. Cook for approximately 10 minutes, until char develops.
7. While the burgers are cooking, combine the greek yogurt (or sour cream) and the other half of the canned jalapenos in a bowl to create a jalapeno cream sauce. Set aside.
8. Flip the burgers and continue cooking until the desired internal temp is reached.
9. If desired, toast your buns directly on the grill grates until desired doneness.
10. Remove from the grill and assemble the burger on a bun, with the jalapeno cream sauce.
