Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your grill to 350°F.
Line a large baking sheet with heavy-duty foil and coat it with non-stick spray — or use a Monument Grills Cast Iron Cooking Plate lined with foil for a sturdier, more even base.
Arrange the crackers in a single layer, then fold the foil edges upward to keep the toffee contained.
Step 2: Make the toffee base
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat.
Bring it to a full rolling boil, then reduce the heat slightly and stir continuously for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens and darkens.
Step 3: Pour + bake
Quickly pour the hot toffee over the crackers and spread it evenly.
Bake for 5 minutes, until the toffee bubbles across the whole sheet.
Step 4: Add the chocolate
Remove from the oven. Scatter the chocolate chips over the hot toffee.
Let them sit for 1–2 minutes until shiny and softened, then spread into a smooth chocolate layer.
Step 5: Finish + chill
Add toppings if you're using them.
Chill in the refrigerator overnight (or at least 2–3 hours if you're in a rush).
Once firm, peel off the foil and break into bite-size pieces.
