Ingredients

- 3 pounds carrots
- 1 ½ pounds bacon
- ½ cup maple syrup
- salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

1. Preheat your indirect grill to 400 degrees F. These carrots can also be cooked in an oven, if desired.
2. Wrap and season. Thoroughly scrub and peel each carrot. Wrap each carrot in a piece of bacon, overlapping the ends so they are secured. Sprinkle each carrot with salt and pepper.
3. Place the wrapped carrots on the grill grates (or on a baking sheet, if using the oven). Close the lid and cook for 25-30 minutes or until the bacon is golden and crisp.
4. Brush with syrup. During the last 5 minutes of grilling, brush the carrots with the maple syrup. Grill until the syrup starts to bubble, remove from the grill, and serve.
5. Remove the carrots from the grill and serve immediately. These are best when still warm.
